Corrections
Corrections robots for jails and prisons
Every round, cell check, and perimeter walk takes an officer away from another post. CORAS® (Corrections Officer Robotic Assistant System) puts a quadruped robot on those routes, and your officers decide where it goes and what it checks.
CORAS runs on Bear and Bear-W, our corrections packages built on the Unitree B2 and B2-W. Unitree manufactures the hardware. Stokes Robotics is the secondary developer and integrator, and we set up each robot for corrections work before it ships.
Corrections robots for sale
CORAS is a tool for correctional officers, not a replacement for them. Your officers choose its routes, review what it sees, and decide when a person needs to step in.
Two of our quadruped robots carry CORAS.
Where CORAS fits in a facility
Most of what CORAS does is work that takes an officer off another post. These are the places it covers.
Housing unit rounds
Send CORAS along walkways and between tiers on a set route. Your officers follow the live camera view and step in when something needs a person.
Perimeter and yard checks
Fence lines, yards, and perimeter roads are long routes in all weather. CORAS is rated for rain and cold, and Bear-W covers the longest flat routes.
A look before anyone walks in
Send the robot into a cell, corridor, or room first, so officers can see what is there before a person enters.
What CORAS does on a shift
Capabilities depend on the configuration you choose. Each one below names the configuration that includes it.
Navigation · Inspection A, B, C
Patrol routes with autonomous navigation
The Bear and Bear-W Navigation configurations add a 32-line automotive-grade 3D LiDAR with navigation algorithms, so the robot can follow mapped routes through your facility. The Bear Inspection configurations go further: an industry-grade laser SLAM kit, inspection management software for your station, a contact charger, an emergency stop button, and a network module. An officer can take manual control with the remote controller at any time.
Inspection B, C
Thermal and zoom inspection
Bear Inspection B and C carry a dual-light gimbal camera. It pairs a thermal camera with a visible lens that has 32× optical zoom, a 30-meter white light, and full 360° horizontal rotation. Officers can check a dark yard, a fence line, or the far end of a housing unit for heat sources without walking there first.
Inspection B, C
Two-way audio
The Inspection B and C camera also carries a pickup microphone and a speaker, so officers can hear what is happening at the robot and speak through it.
Inspection C
Close inspection with a robotic arm
Bear Inspection C adds a Z1 Pro robotic arm with a depth camera on its gripper. It gives a close look at objects and spots the main cameras cannot see.
Built for stairs, yards, and weather
Unitree rates the B2 for 40 cm steps going forward, IP67 protection, and an operating range of -20 to 55 °C. Bear can climb between the tiers of a housing unit and keep working outside in rain and cold. Bear-W gives up some stair height for range: Unitree lists about 30 km per charge with no load.

Choose Bear
Bear fits patrols that climb stairs between tiers, and jobs that call for thermal imaging, audio, or the arm.
Buy BearChoose Bear-W
Bear-W fits routes that are long and mostly flat, like a perimeter road or an open yard.
Buy Bear-WSetup and training for your officers
Your officers should be confident running CORAS before it goes on its first round. We train operators before and after the sale, and we deliver nationwide. Sheriff’s offices that also run patrol can add our law enforcement robots.
We set up CORAS at your facility and train your operators, with training materials.
