Law enforcement

Law enforcement robots for police agencies

Some calls are better met with a camera first. SHEP gives your officers a robot dog they drive into a building, a vehicle, or a dark lot, so they can see, light up, and talk to what is there before anyone steps forward.

SHEP and SHEP-W are our public safety packages, built on the Unitree Go2 and Go2-W. Unitree manufactures the hardware. Stokes Robotics is the secondary developer and integrator, and every law enforcement package we sell is non-lethal.

SHEP is remote-operated. An officer drives it from a controller with a built-in screen, sees what its cameras see, and decides every move it makes.

It carries cameras, lights, and a speaker, and the officer driving it stays in charge of every decision on the call.

Two of our quadruped robots carry the public safety configurations. SHEP walks on four legs. SHEP-W adds wheels to its legs for covering ground fast.

How law enforcement agencies use robots

SHEP goes where an agency wants eyes and a voice before it commits a person.

A look inside first

Drive SHEP into a building, room, or vehicle and watch the live video from outside before an officer goes in.

Searches after dark

ENT Plus lights up a lot, a yard, or a hallway with a 3000-lumen searchlight. ENT MTPTZ adds thermal imaging that shows heat sources in the dark.

Large scenes and long perimeters

SHEP-W rolls across parking lots, fields, and industrial sites on its wheels, and steps over curbs and obstacles with its legs.

Law enforcement robot features and equipment

Equipment depends on the configuration you choose. Each card names the configuration that includes it.

ENT · ENT Plus · ENT MTPTZ

Live video with a backup link

Dual 1080p cameras with a 120° wide-angle view and four fill lights send video to a controller with a built-in screen. A 5.8 GHz main link carries control and video, with a 4G backup link if the main signal drops. Unitree lists video latency as low as 180 ms.

ENT Plus

Searchlight and warning lights

A 30 W, 3000-lumen searchlight with steady, flash, and brightness modes, plus red and blue warning lights with several flash patterns.

ENT Plus

Voice broadcast

An officer can speak live through the robot, play a recorded message, or use text-to-speech. Unitree lists a range of 500 to 800 m on SHEP and up to 500 m on SHEP-W.

ENT MTPTZ

Thermal imaging

A three-axis stabilized dual-light gimbal pairs a 640 × 512 thermal camera with a visible camera, controlled from the screen remote.
