Educational robots for schools and classrooms

A robot turns a programming lesson into something students can watch happen. A robot dog climbs a step, a rover maps the hallway, a humanoid follows a command. We set up robots for classrooms and pair them with curriculum and teacher training, so your program starts with more than a box of hardware.

Our education packages run on hardware from Unitree and AgileX Robotics, who manufacture the robots. Stokes Robotics is the secondary developer and integrator, and we have written STEM curriculum since 2005 and robotics curriculum since 2013.

Each package is set up for your program before it ships, so class can start with the robot instead of the setup. Students write the code, and the robot shows them what it does.

Where these robots fit in your program

The same robot can serve a high school class and a university lab. What changes is the curriculum around it and how deep students go.

K-12 and CTE classrooms

Students program a robot and see their code run on something they can touch. SHEP, LIMO, and Rise all pair with the STEMBOTICS curriculum license.

College robotics courses

LIMO runs ROS 2 Humble with Gazebo, so students can move from simulation to a real robot. The Scout Mini ROS2 Development Kit adds a larger platform for Nav2 and autonomy coursework, and our ROS2 development kits cover research labs.

Competitions and demonstrations

The LIMO simulation table adds a traffic light, recognition signs, a ramp, and model trees for repeatable challenges. Rise is also built for events and demonstrations.

The STEMBOTICS curriculum

STEMBOTICS is our classroom robotics curriculum. It takes students from operating a robot to building their own robotics project for a real job, with lessons in Python and C++.

Unit 1

Robotics

Students learn to operate the robot: basic operations, maintenance, and capacity limits they build on for the rest of the course.

Unit 2

Foundations of robotics and computing

Computer science groundwork, including terminal setup, computer security, and environment setup.

Unit 3

Programming

Students write commands for the robot in Python and C++, covering functions, loops, binary trees, and data visualization at a foundational or advanced level.

Unit 4

Inputs and outputs

Programs that let the robot use its cameras, speakers, and LiDAR, and connect to other devices.

Unit 5

Commercial applications

Students pick a career cluster, such as agriculture, health science, or manufacturing, and build a robotics solution to a real problem.

Compare classroom robots

Each robot teaches the same programming skills on a different kind of machine.

Choose LIMO

LIMO fits ROS 2 programming, mapping, and navigation, and classrooms that want several robots at once through the Classroom Combo.

Buy LIMO

Choose SHEP

SHEP fits classes where students should see their code move a walking robot over real terrain.

Buy SHEP

Choose Rise

Rise fits programs that want a humanoid students program directly, in K-12, CTE, or college courses.
